Louren Magtoto
Nursery Teacher

Academic Qualifications: Master Degree in Special Education

Louren has been teaching for more than 20 years. She completed her Masters Degree majoring in Special Education at New Era University and her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology, at Philippines Normal University. Following on she continued her studies and obtained the Montessori Certification for primary level at Collin Community College, Plano Texas and the lower elementary Montessori Certification at North American Montessori Center simultaneously while she worked at North Garland Montessori School Dallas Texas for 6 years. During her 17 years in the field of education, she spent 12 years working with children ages 3 to 6 years old using the Montessori Methodology. Additional qualifications include a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from ITTT (International TEFL and TESOL Training). During the last 6 years she has been a teacher at Excelsior International School, and have gained experience and training of the PYP and IEYC curricula and continuously seeks to learn, grow and search out new ways to meet the needs of the children.


Ms Nadhira Binti Mohd
Nursery Teaching Assistant

Nadhirah is from Malaysia and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Sciences (Major in Psychology). She has worked in local Kindergartens and has experiences in other industries such as Health and Human resources. As a Teaching Assistant she enjoys the hands on experience of learning through play with young pupils and believes that every children is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.
In her spare time she enjoys watching anime’s and going on a long drive.


Ms April Chambers
Reception (FS2) Teacher
Head of Early Years

Academic Qualifications: BEd Early Childhood Studies

April is very excited to be working at Repton Malaysia as the Reception class teacher and Head of the Early Years department.

After graduating with a BEd in Early Childhood Education from the UK, she taught for 4 years at a small village school in Gloucestershire as the Reception class teacher.

She has recently been teaching in Casablanca, Morocco at the British International School, as Head of the Early Years department. This was her first international teaching experience and she enjoyed it so much that she wanted to continue this time travelling further afield.

Her passion and experience are in the Early Years, using the British curriculum – the Early Years Foundation Stage – to ensure the best outcomes for our youngest pupils.

Outside of school she enjoys travelling, reading and most recently, boxing.


Ms Thenmoli A/P Balakrishannan
Reception (FS2) Teaching Assistant

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)(Hons)

Thenmoli has completed her studies in Early Childhood Education from Unitar International University in 2016. She has been a preschool teacher for 2 years at a local Kindergarten in Malaysia and currently serving as a Teaching Assistant here at Repton International School Malaysia (previously known as Excelsior International School) for the past 4 years. She believes that every student has a unique character and learning style that has to be respected by educators in order for them to grow intellectually, emotionally and socially. She also believes that all children can learn given the correct tools and environment.

She enjoys free arts and spending time with her family.





Ms Elaine Blando
Year 1A Teacher

Country of Origin: Philippines
Academic Qualifications: Master of Arts in Education major in Early Childhood Education, Licensed Professional Teacher, Diploma Level Education and Care qualified by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority

Ms Elaine Blando comes from the Philippines and holds a MA in Education with an Early Childhood Major with more than 10 years of teaching experience.

Prior to teaching in Malaysia she worked in several private schools in the Philippines and was later appointed in a British School as Learning Support and SEN Co-ordinator. For the past three years, she has been working with us as an Early Years and Key Stage 1 teacher.

In her spare time she enjoys music, movies, sports and travelling to tropical destinations.


Ms Ilyn Malocloc
Year 1A Teaching Assistant

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Certificate in Special Education and Diploma in Teaching (uptaking)

Ilyn comes from the Philippines and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree, a Certificate in Special Education and is currently taking her Diploma in Teaching. She has worked in the corporate in a British Nursery for almost 3 years in Dubai, and has been with us for the past 6 years as a teaching assistant. She has had various qualifications and training in the PYP and IPC / IEYC curriculum. She has worked in the corporate side for 10years as an AP/Cost Accountant before joining the education sector.

She is passionate about working with children and learning together with them. She strongly believes in inclusivity, that all children should have access to education regardless of their learning abilities.

She loves cooking, making food vlogs on Youtube and watching Netflix in spare time. She also loves playing with her dogs.

Ms Clair Morris
Year 1B Teacher

Academic Qualifications: BA Ed (Hons.) QTS

Clair joins the school with an abundance of experience from the UK After obtaining a BA Degree [Hons] and QTS status she has spent the last 15 years teaching in the UK, the majority as a Deputy Head and Acting Head, and she has taught each year group from Foundation Stage through to Year 6 and has also been Head of English, Pastoral Lead and Key Stage Two Leader in previous schools. Most recently, her family travelled through Asia, eventually settling in Malaysia, and there children attend Repton International. Travelling as a family has encouraged Clair and her family to see the world through different eyes; as they love to meet new people, taste new food and experience cultures different to our own.


Ms Priya Dharsheeni Ramasamy
Year 1B Teaching Assistant

Priya is from Malaysia, and holds a Bachelors of Education (TESL). She has been teaching in the Primary and Secondary section as a teacher for the past 10 years. Priya joined us six years ago as a teaching assistant for the Early Years and Key Stage 1. She is a very skilled, patient, and a children-loving teacher whose main goal is to convey knowledge to young children.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys creative work like DIY’s, art, craft as well as baking. She loves adventures and relish hiking, camping trips and travelling with her husband.


Ms Vanila A/P Pakirisamy
Year 2A Teacher

Vanila is from Malaysia and holds a Hons Degree as well as a PGCE. She has been teaching in the Primary section as a homeroom teacher for the past 15 years. Vanila joined us 4 years and is looking forward to new beginnings with Repton Malaysia. She has experience teaching Cambridge, IPC and PYP and EYFS and strives to build strong, productive relationships with both children and parents. She believes in nurturing to develop the holistic child - developing their social, emotional and academic skills.

Outside the classroom, Vanila enjoy arts and craft and reading.


Ms Carolyn Summerfield
Year 2B Teacher

Academic Qualifications: BEd Hons Primary Education

Carolyn comes from Scotland and completed her BEd Hons in Primary Education.

This is her second year teaching in Malaysia, following her graduation from Edinburgh University and 7 years of teaching in Scottish primary schools.

Carolyn has enjoyed the experience of teaching a broad range of ages, stages and curricular areas. Since living in Malaysia she has delighted in exploring the incredible flora and fauna of a tropical setting and doing as much as she can to help children connect with this precious natural resource. Inspired by this, Carolyn has recently qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader and enjoys taking groups of children outside to experience the tropical forests and learn through curiosity and play. She is also fascinated by child brain development and the power and impact of connection.

Carolyn has two young children with her husband Chris and they love exploring the outdoors and discovering interesting new food to cook together.


Ms Devaki Subramaniam
Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Devaki is from Malaysia, and holds a Hons Degree. She has been teaching in the Primary and Secondary section as a teacher for the past 8 years. She is a very talented, skilled, patient, and children-loving teacher whose main goal is to convey knowledge to young learners with various teaching methodologies that would help children uplift their self esteem and maintain interest and enthusiasm. Assistance to students in times of difficulties and has a creative attitude and thus adapted new different learning techniques to enrich the students learning ability.

Devaki has an Impressive work ethic and commitment to creating a challenging yet nurturing learning environment.

Outside the classroom she enjoys, photo editing as a hobby.


Mr Paul Joseph Kropman
Year 3A Teacher

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts - International Relations & Politics, Graduate Diploma of Education

Paul is Australian and has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations & Politics as well as a Graduate Diploma of Education. Prior to joining Repton Malaysia, he worked for four years as an IB PYP teacher at an international school in Munich, Germany. Since leaving his home Australia around seven years ago, he has enjoyed working abroad in the UAE and Germany, and had the opportunity to travel and experience different countries and cultures. In his classroom, he seeks to integrate the elements of positive education by creating a welcoming, caring and enjoyable classroom environment, where children feel confident to take risks, try their best and develop their resilience and self management skills.

In his spare time Paul enjoys travelling, following politics and global events, as well as spending time with family and friends.


Ms Sarah Shalini
Year 3A Teaching Assistant

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Health Science-Biological Sciences, Australia and is an engaging educator with experience of teaching small and large groups across diverse age groups. Before joining Repton Malaysia, she worked as a Science Teacher at an International School in Malaysia. In addition, to this she worked as a Biology Lecturer for pre-university students at a reputable university. Her aim is to deliver effective teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in students.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the world and reading books.


Mr Maciej Wojciech Zakrzewski
Year 4A Teacher

Academic Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Oxford Brookes University, QTS with Maths Specialism, University of Reading

Maciei is originally from Poland and lived in England for 15 years, where he completed his education. He graduated Oxford Brookes University with Bachelors of Science and University of Reading with QTS.

He came to our school after teaching for the past 5 years at St Ethelbert’s Primary School in Slough, England. He believes that as educators we are responsible not only for pupils’ academic achievements, but also providing them with diverse opportunities that encourage their emotional development. He enjoys seeing his pupils becoming critical, imaginative thinkers.

Before becoming an educator, Maciej lived in Oxford where he enjoyed a successful career in hospitality management.

Maciej enjoys an active, healthy lifestyle. He is an active floorball player and had an honour of representing Team GB in international games. In his spare time he likes reading, running and doing yoga. Recently, he began exploring meditation and mindfulness.

Mr Chris Summerfield
Year 4B Teacher

Academic Qualifications: BA (Hons) English Studies, University of Stirling, PGDE Primary Education, Edinburgh University

Chris is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland and has been teaching for 12 years. He lived in Ehime Prefecture, Japan for 3 years teaching English in State Elementary and Junior High Schools.

When he returned to Scotland he taught upper, early years and most recently the middle stages of primary in a range of schools in Edinburgh. He has extensive experience as an ICT coordinator and enjoys using ICT to enhance learning in a variety of contexts.

He has been living in Malaysia teaching for the last 2 years with his family and enjoyed exploring the culture and great food here.

Chris believes in creating a supportive, respectful classroom environment where learners are nurtured and challenged to develop their potential. He aims to build resilience and develop a growth mindset in pupils; allowing them to become more independent and creative thinkers.


Ms Eleanor Stirrup
Year 5A Teacher and Head of English for Junior School

Country of Origin: England
Academic Qualifications: Law Degree, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Eleanor graduated as teacher with a Law Degree and a PGCE in Education from the UK. She taught in the UK for 9 years before moving to Malaysia in 2019. Which allows her the opportunity to experience a Malaysian culture and to see other parts of South East Asia.

She is very passionate about learning and endeavours to create an environment of independence and resilience while fostering a love of learning. She has now taken on the role as Head of English in the Junior School, which allows her to further pursue her love of Literacy and to have a positive impact on the whole school as well as the children she teaches

In her Leisure time she has an interest in fitness and loves to go for long runs and bicycle rides outdoors. She also enjoys reading for pleasure and spending time with friends and her family.


Mr Luke Atkins
Year 5B Teacher & Head of Pastoral

Academic Qualifications: Geography with Marketing, 2:1 Undergraduate Degree, University of Hull. PGCE, University of Sussex

Luke is from the UK and has completed a degree in Geography with Marketing as well as his PGCE.

During his teaching career he has taught in schools in the UK and in Alicante, Spain. These experiences have allowed him to spend time experiencing different cultures and different ways of teaching. Whilst teaching in the UK he had the opportunity to work in a school just outside of Brighton working in a school which was constantly developing and improving. However, in Spain he had the chance to work within an ‘outstanding’ school and learnt how to make sure that all children are given access to fantastic opportunities, both inside the classroom and outside.

Away from school he has a keen interest in a range of sport, playing with varying levels of success and competence.


Ms Linda Walton
Year 6A Teacher

Linda is From Australia and studied Fashion design, Business and Management prior to completing a Bachelor degree in Education. She has recently joined Repton International School as a teacher to Year 6A . She comes to our school after teaching at an international school in Hanoi, Vietnam. Prior to that, Linda was a Primary School Teacher in Australia. Before teaching in primary years, Linda was a trainer and assessor in adult and youth education working in some very remote locations across the country. She delivered various training programs and was responsible for the management, financial and overall running of these projects
In her spare time, Linda enjoys sewing, craft, art, cooking, making anything with her hands – jewellery, bags, soft furnishings, shoes.

Ms Clare Germain

Clare graduated from the UK with a BA(hons) degree in languages and has been teaching internationally since 2004, in Malawi, Kenya, Egypt and Tanzania. Every class she has taught has been different- full of different personalities, different needs, different interests, different talents. This is where her joy of teaching comes from for her- finding out about these differences and using them to create the most positive experience for the children in her care. She uses a variety of different teaching methods to make sure that students are active and engaged, encouraging them to ask useful questions to further their own learning both within and beyond the classroom. She is in Malaysia as part of a teaching family, with her husband who is teaching in the senior school and her two children who are students here.


Ms Kaitheri Balasundram

Kaitheri started her teaching career in 2009 in a Montessori School called in Tree Top House in Ampang,Kuala Lumpur. In 2012, she joined Nexus International School in Putrajaya as a Teaching Assistant and was there for 5 years.

In 2016, she moved to Johor with her husband and worked in Sri Omega for 6 months and at the same time; she was offered a job In Excelsior International School, as Teaching Assistant for Nursery.

This is her first year in Repton as an Assistant Teacher and she is looking forward for the new Journey with Repton Malaysia.

Her Interests include reading novels, cooking and gardening painting and going for a long drive with family.


Mr Mohd Hisham Bin Sulaiman

Hisham is from Malaysia and holds a Bachelor as well as a Master in Malay Linguistic. He has 7 years’ experience in teaching the Malay language in Malaysian and International schools across Malaysia, giving him a wide range of teaching experiences including a variety of international curriculums.

In his classroom, he seeks to integrate the elements of positive and is an engaging educator with experience of teaching small and large groups across diverse age groups. Hisham has been with us since 2019 as one of our senior Malay teacher for the Junior School at Repton International School.

SungHan is from Taiwan, R.O.C. and holds a Master of Developmental and Educational Psychology. She has taught students of all ages, from reception to college for the past thirteen years. Her wide range of teaching experiences includes a variety of international curriculum settings in Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Myanmar and Malaysia. As an educator, she believes her role is to set up and maintain an environment conducive to language learning and freedom to explore. She strives to make use of various teaching approaches to cultivate her students to be resilience lifelong learners.

Apart from teaching, Sung-Han is a music and movie lover, a reader, a traveller and a cultural explorer.


Ms Theresa Sowa
Mandarin Teacher

Theresa is a Singaporean with more than 15 years of teaching experience and completed her M.ED (IB), BBA, and has her PGDE

Theresa has taught Chinese Language in Singapore public schools and then in private and international schools in Korea using Singapore, China (Hanban) and Korean curriculum. She is also familiar with the American Curriculum gained during her two years of teaching Middle Schoolers in Korea. Among her teaching experience, she has presented at national and international conferences sharing classroom practices from Action Research or Lesson Study. In addition, she is involved with numerous overseas cultural and immersion programs to Shanghai, Xiamen, Hongkong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines and Cambodia as a chaperon, presenter or teacher volunteer, which greatly enhanced her teaching experience through being exposed at these events. She strives to approach teaching and learning with empathy, fun and a willingness to try new things.

Outside the classroom, Theresa enjoys travelling, cooking, and hiking.

Hui Lin is from Malaysia and has completed her Kodaly Certificate, Piano ABRSM Grade 8, Viola ABRSM Grade 8 and her Music Theory ABRSM Grade 8. She has 6 years of teaching experience across different year groups. She has great passion and interest to nurture children towards learning and understanding music elements. She worked with private organization and local government schools before joining Repton Malaysia. She has established a music programme for upper primary in performances, also experiments with creative music making activities using body percussion, voice, recycled items, and other instruments. Being a music enthusiast, she actively plays the viola in chamber music.

In her spare time she enjoys travelling, learning new culture and diving
