Mr John Dorrell
Head of Department - English for Senior School Country of Origin: United Kingdom John has over thirty years of teaching experience in London, leading English departments and training subject leaders. In 2017, he relocated to Malaysia, first to Putrajaya and now to Johor Bahru. Throughout his career, he has trained teachers through the King's PGCE course, coached new subject leaders, led a number of significant curriculum initiatives, and served as a school governor. He has also served as a form tutor for five cohorts of students ranging in age from Year 7 to Year 13. He is an avid writer who has published poems and prose, and he also paints in mixed media. His personal interest in understanding other cultures and beliefs influences all of his interests outside of school, and he is always eager to explore the unexpected, whether in places, music, or food. |

Ms Kathleen Cleeves Country of Origin: United Kingdom Kathleen Cleeves brings to Repton International School twenty years of teaching experience, fifteen of which she gained in international schools in Italy, Vietnam, and Myanmar. She graduated with honours from the University of Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom with a degree in English and Women's Studies and a PGCE. Kathleen has taught Secondary English at all levels, including KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, and IB. She is also a Cambridge Examiner for IGCSE English as a Second Language – speaking component and a certified CELTA teacher. Kathleen earned a Master's Degree in International Education from the University of Bath in 2015. Her previous responsibilities included coordinating language across the primary school in her previous post in Italy, as well as successfully leading the Y7 English team in Vietnam. She enjoys preparing students for LAMDA Reading for Performance Exams and has run a variety of creative writing courses, which she hopes to continue in her new position at Repton International School. Kathleen is especially excited to contribute to the larger Repton School Community, and she is coming in Johor Bahru with her three-year-old daughter. She enjoys running, creative writing, yoga, and exploring new places and meeting new people with her young daughter. |

Mr Giuseppe Troisi Country of Origin: London, United Kingdom Giuseppe has over 15 years of teaching experience in Europe and the United States, teaching English and other subjects to boys and girls at top private schools in California. Giuseppe is also an enthusiastic chess player and teacher, leading scholastic teams, camps, and tutoring chess. He enjoys sports and coaches soccer, tennis, and basketball. His teams have won numerous championships over the years, and he has worked with both disadvantaged groups and elite athletes. He is an avid reader and historian who has travelled the world to legendary locations in world history and literature. |

Mr Nevzat Yuksel Country of Origin: Turkey Nevzat has been a computer science teacher for over 30 years, serving in a variety of London schools as a teacher, adviser, coordinator, and director. Nevzat has taught ICT and Computer Science at Key Stages 1, 2, 3, GCSE, and A Level. Nevzat also coordinated and participated actively in a number of Erasmus International Partnership projects involving computer science, robotics, multimedia, and programming. He enjoys canoeing and sailing in his spare time. |

Mr Robert Yeo Country of Origin: Singapore Robert is a Singaporean with a BSc Hons, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, and experience teaching Chemistry at Victoria Junior College (Years 12 and 13) and the School of the Arts (Years 10 to 13). For a few years, he was the teacher in charge of the PA/AVA club and the HOD for ICT. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and learning about new ICT developments and programmes. |

Mr Henryk Flak Country of Origin: Australia Henryk has taught various Australian curriculums (WACE and HSC) as well as the IB. He has taught IB Economics, Business Management, History, and Geography. For the past seven years, he has also served as an external marker for the Western Australian Economics WACE exams. Henryk oversaw the school's MUN Program while in Hong Kong. He worked as an Economist in Canberra before becoming a teacher. In his spare time, Henryk enjoys staying fit, cheering on the Fremantle Dockers (of the Australian Football League), and keeping up with current events. |

Ms Lindsey Sladek Country of Origin: USA Lindsey is an American who spent four years as a teacher in Shanghai, China, teaching local/national students history and global perspectives in both public and private schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with a minor in Biology, as well as a Secondary Social Studies Teaching Certificate. She gained valuable experience working with non-native English learners there. Pupils' input and ideas assisted her in changing her teaching techniques to benefit their learning styles and English ability, as well as improving their receptivity to the material in class. She values students' questions, ideas, and input, and she encourages students to embrace cross-cultural learning from one another and to be active participants in the classroom. She worked as a pastoral coordinator for year 11 students in Shanghai and had the opportunity to work with them to improve their school life experience outside of their classrooms. She has taught IGCSE history, Geography, IB ESS, and lower secondary humanities over the last year. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside, exploring nature and cities, travelling and learning about different cultures, and practising her photography. She enjoys baking and cooking as well. Mr Kekeli Amankwah Country of Origin: United Kingdom Kekeli was offered the position of Teacher of Geography at Riddlesdown Collegiate in south London after finishing his PGCE in Geography at Goldsmiths College in 2009. He spent an enjoyable six years here, learning from more experienced leaders and mentors to develop his pedagogy. Kekeli successfully applied for the position of Teacher of Geography at Harris Invictus Academy Croydon, also in south London, in 2015. The school had just opened, and as the first specialist teacher, He had the unique opportunity to build the Geography department from the ground up. In 2017, he was officially recognised as a Subject Leader for Geography as the school grew in size. His time at Harris Invictus was highlighted by his nomination for the ‘Transforming Lives as a Leader' Award at the 2019 Harris Federation Annual Conference. With his tutor group finishing secondary school in the summer of 2020, Kekeli accepted a maternity cover position at Oxted School in Surrey. He was excited to accept the position of Geography Teacher at Repton International School in early 2021, and he eagerly anticipates starting in September. Kekeli enjoys football in his spare time and has supported Crystal Palace since he was a child! He also enjoys long-distance walking and documentaries by David Attenborough. |

Ms Dominique Perrang Country of Origin: South Africa Dominique graduated from South Africa with a B:Ed Honours Degree and spent eight years teaching the CAPS curriculum there. She was a Phase head and Head of Department for five years, during which time she monitored curriculum delivery, developed improvement plans, analysed results, and implemented intervention strategies. Dominique worked as a district tutor in Cape Town, assisting underperforming schools in improving their business studies results. She was a member of a national writers committee for 21st century learning skills that emphasised the fourth industrial revolution through the incorporation of entrepreneurship while there. She has taught IBDP business management, IGCSE business studies, and lower secondary humanities since joining the school in 2019. She is also an educational enthusiast and a passionate educator who believes in lifelong learning and the provision of high-quality education. She enjoys reading and listening to music in her spare time. |

Ms Pei Hui Ting Country of Origin: Malaysia Pei is Malaysian and has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Her passion for teaching began as a part-time English teacher in a Taiwanese English Tuition Center. Ms Pei returned to her home country and began working as a Mandarin teacher at a preschool. Prior to joining Repton Malaysia, she spent four years teaching IB PYP, MYP Mandarin, and IGCSE Mandarin Foreign Language at an IB international school in Malaysia. She has been teaching Mandarin for 9 years, from Early Years to Senior High School, and specialises in IGCSE Mandarin Foreign Language and IBDP Mandarin from the start. Besides that, she has attended IB PYP, MYP, DP Mandarin Ab initio, and Mandarin B workshops throughout her teaching career. Pei enjoys travelling, cooking, gardening, jogging, sports activities, and spending time with her family in her spare time. |

Ms Noorul Akmal binti Shafii Country of Origin: Malaysia Noorul graduated as a teacher from International Islamic University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and has worked as a Bahasa Melayu teacher for 11 years in both private and international school settings, teaching IGCSE Malay and working with students of all academic abilities from diverse backgrounds. Ms Tracy Hey Country of Origin: Malaysia Tracy Hey comes to us with extensive experience teaching Mandarin at schools and universities in China, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, and Malaysia. Tracy has been teaching Mandarin at international schools in Penang and Singapore for the past seven years. She led the Mandarin department at Dover Court International School in Singapore in developing an interactive and dynamic curriculum for 3- to 11-year-olds. In Penang, she worked with IGCSE students to ensure they received high marks. Tracy has taught students of all ages and abilities, from nursery to IGCSE. Her extensive teaching experience has enabled her to tailor her instruction to students of all levels of Mandarin, from beginners to native speakers. She enjoys travelling in her spare time. She has gained a wealth of experience and insight into various cultures and people as a result of her travels. She enjoys staying active through a variety of activities such as hiking, exploring new places, and eating delicious food. Mr Chong Wai Jiunn Country of Origin: Malaysia Chong is a Malaysian who has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Programmes (PGDE). Mr Arnaud Germain Country of Origin: France Arnaud is French and has a PGCE as well as a master's degree in teaching French as a foreign language. Arnaud has worked in the United Kingdom, Malawi, Kenya, Egypt, Tanzania, and now Malaysia. He has taught pupils ranging from Y5 in Primary to Y13 in Secondary, teaching GCSE/IGCSE, A'Level, and IB DP. He also served as a Form Tutor, Assistant Head of Year, Deputy Principal, and Head of Faculty. Arnaud enjoys being outside and works as a scuba diving instructor. He played club football as a goalkeeper in three different countries and has coached various age groups since he was 19 years old. He is an amateur wildlife photographer with a passion for wildlife. Arnaud enjoys travelling with his family and learning about new places and cultures. |

Ms Dora Lakatos Country of Origin: Hungary Pázmány Péter University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences TEFL Certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) IB Educator Certificates: Dora began her teaching career as an Art History teacher at a local high school in Hungary after graduating from Pázmány Péter University in 2012. She moved to China after receiving her TEFL certification and taught English as an Additional Language (EAL) at two state universities from 2014 to 2018. Dora returned to her hometown in 2018 and worked as an EAL Teacher at the British International School in Budapest for two years. She began working as a Secondary EAL Teacher at Repton International School in 2020. Dora truly believes that each pupil is an individual and unique with a range of experiences and talents that must be recognised and nurtured in order for them to thrive and flourish. She is dedicated to providing her pupils with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment in which they can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. Dora enjoys using various methods, such as project-based learning and hands-on classroom activities, to encourage and motivate her pupils to be confident when faced with new challenges. In her spare time, she likes to paint, read, do yoga or go for a run. |

Mr Lloyd Marling Country of Origin: United Kingdom Lloyd has 25 years of teaching experience in England, the last 12 of which he led a highly successful mathematics faculty in Cheshire, England. Lloyd, as dean of faculty, has assisted colleagues in improving their teaching practises and achieving the best results for themselves and their students. He has also taught KS3, GCSE mathematics, A level mathematics, and further mathematics for many years. He has developed a teaching style that encourages students to enjoy mathematics while also setting high expectations for them. Lloyd has received widespread praise for the manner in which he prepares students for external examinations. His analysis of assessment data to accurately monitor student progress has been used effectively to support teaching and learning and improve exam outcomes. In his spare time, Lloyd enjoys playing golf, music and working out in the gym. |

Mr Daniel Sinnott Country of Origin: United Kingdom Daniel spent his first five years of teaching as a secondary school Mathematics teacher in Liverpool, his hometown. He has been the Mathematics teacher at Dulwich College Yangon in Myanmar for the past four years, teaching students from middle school to IGCSE. Daniel enjoys puzzles and problem solving and has organised both in-school and online interhouse and interschool Mathematics competitions. Daniel enjoyed participating in Dulwich's sports programmes during his time there. He established a thriving golf academy in collaboration with Myanmar's leading golf course, as well as coaching and chaperoning the school's Football and Rugby teams both in Myanmar and internationally. Daniel's main hobby outside of teaching is golf, and he is looking forward to playing all of the fantastic golf courses that Johor Bahru has to offer. |

Ms Joan Malabuyoc Country of Origin: Philippines Joan has been a teacher for nearly two decades, 15 of them in international schools as a Mathematics and Science teacher with various coordinator roles. She began her career in Laguna, Philippines, and later relocated to Manila, where she began teaching the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. She has taught across the IB curriculum as an experienced IBO teacher (PYP, MYP and DP). She is currently heavily involved with the Cambridge programme (Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and A-Levels) and serves as the IB Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Coordinator. Mr Joel Doguil Angel Country of Origin: Philippines Joel has spent the last twenty-five years teaching in the Philippines, Japan, and Malaysia. As a science educator, he exemplifies himself as a well-rounded mentor and supervisor who selflessly shares his skills and knowledge with his students and colleagues, having earned both a BSc and a Masters Degree in Physics. He has worked with people from various cultures, which has given him a better understanding of the workplace environment. From 2007 to 2009, Joel received a postgraduate research scholarship - teacher training in Japan through the MONBUKAGAKUSHO (MEXT) Scholarship programme. His IBDP and international teaching career began in Japan, where he worked as an IBDP Physics teacher, JHS Science and Math teacher, EE and CAS supervisor. He also attended Physics, TOK, and Internal Assessment subject-specific workshops. His interest in developing a science educational learning model that seeks to deepen systematic instructional processes to learners on different platforms around the world who are interconnected through modern technology or physical programme exchange while sharing culture and different study approaches demonstrates his passion for science. Ms Makatleho Alletta Leballo Country of Origin: Lesotho Alleta has over nine years of international education experience with the IGCSE and IBDP curricula. She previously worked at an international school in Lesotho, Machabeng College International School of Lesotho, where she held various leadership positions related to IGCSE coordination and CIS (Council of International Schools) accreditation. She has a plethora of IBDP short courses in chemistry and TOK, as well as Ontario International School leadership courses, which have set the tone for her professional practise in the classroom. She is currently pursuing her MEd in Inclusive Education, which is one of her passions as an educator, researcher, and lifelong learner. Mr Lajos Papp Country of Origin: Hungary Lajos began his teaching career in Budapest, Hungary, where he taught Hungarian NC, KS4 NC Biology in English, and IBDP Biology at both levels. He then became a teacher at an international school in Budapest, where he taught KS3 Science, KS4 IGCSE Biology, and IBDP Biology. Mr Lee Choon Mon Country of Origin: Malaysia Mon graduated from Raffles College of Music with First Class Honours and went on to study Applied Music (Major in Performances/Directing) at Dundalk Institute of Technology. The Royal Academy of Music in London awarded him a Master of Music in Conducting. During his studies, he was mentored by renowned conductors such as David Brophy, Sir Simon Rattle, Thomas Benedict, and Annalisa Monticelli. For his performances of Beethoven's "Egmont Overture" and Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," he was nominated for "One of the Best Romantic Period Youth Conductor." He received the prestigious "Michael Van Dessel Choral Conducting Scholar Award" in 2017. He was the Deputy Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and his musical career took him to Singapore, Ireland, Hungary, and the United Kingdom, as well as Malaysia, where he conducted performances and directed musicals and operas. |

Mr Joe Daly Country of Origin: Great Britain For many years, Joe has worked as a curriculum leader and teacher of Art & Design and Design Technology. He has taught students in both subjects from year 7 to A level both in Malaysia and in England. He has also taught PE in addition to design courses and enjoys facilitating EAL learning. He studied international education models and curriculum design for his Masters degree. His main focus was on removing learning barriers like disadvantage and learning needs like language acquisition. He has been a lifelong rugby fan (although he no longer plays), and he enjoys mountain biking, squash, and exploring new places with his camera. |

Ms Christina Jones Country of Origin: United Kingdom Christina began teaching Speech and Drama lessons to students aged 3 to 18 while pursuing her undergraduate degree. This sparked her interest in teaching, prompting her to pursue a PGCE in Secondary Drama after graduating. She has since spent several years teaching secondary Drama at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, as well as leading a successful Drama department as Curriculum Leader. Christina has directed students in several school productions in addition to her classroom teaching. She has also thoroughly enjoyed assisting students in developing their love of theatre through participation in the Shakespeare Schools Festival and the National Theatre Connections Project. Christina enjoys reading, hiking, running, and, of course, going to the theatre! |

Mr Andres Martinez Country of Origin: Colombia Andres earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He then continued his education at Framingham University, where he earned a Master's degree in International Education. He moved to Johor Bahru in 2019 to teach P.E. and swimming. He previously taught in Bangkok for three years before moving to Johor. He became a Physical Education teacher because he has always led an active lifestyle and believes that healthy eating and exercise can help us maintain our well-being and balance in our lives. Sports and the outdoors are his passions and something he always looks forward to. Football and running are his favourite sports, and he plays football twice a week and runs a few kilometres once a week. |

Mr Selamat Sairi Country of Origin: Malaysia Selamat joined Repton in 2020, after five years of teaching the Diploma in Sports Studies at UiTM and other private colleges and schools in Malaysia. He also has teaching experience in Malay Language, Moral Education, and History. Selamat's hobbies include water rafting, hiking, camping, and jungle trekking, as well as the major sports of badminton and softball. |
