Louren Magtoto
Nursery Teacher

Academic Qualifications: Master Degree in Special Education

Louren has been a teacher for over 20 years. She earned her Masters Degree in Special Education from New Era University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Philippines Normal University. Following that, she continued her studies and obtained the Montessori Certification for the primary level at Collin Community College in Plano, Texas, as well as the lower elementary Montessori Certification at North American Montessori Center while working for 6 years at North Garland Montessori School in Dallas, Texas. She spent 12 years of her 17 years in education working with children ages 3 to 6 years old using the Montessori Methodology. ITTT's Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language is an additional qualification (International TEFL and TESOL Training). She has spent the last six years as a teacher at EIS / Repton International School, where she has gained experience and training in the PYP and IEYC curricula. She is constantly seeking to learn, grow, and find new ways to meet the needs of the children.


Ms April Chambers

Head of Early Years

April is excited to be working as the Reception class teacher and Head of the Early Years department at Repton International School.

She worked as the Reception class teacher at a small village school in Gloucestershire for four years after graduating with a BEd in Early Childhood Education from the UK.

She recently worked as the Head of the Early Years Department at the British International School in Casablanca, Morocco. This was her first international teaching experience, and she had so much fun that she wanted to extend her trip.

Her passion and experience are in the Early Years, where she uses the British curriculum – the Early Years Foundation Stage – to ensure the best outcomes for our youngest students.

Outside of school, she enjoys travelling, reading, and, most recently, boxing.


Ms Ilyn Malocloc
Teaching Assistant

Country of Origin: Philippines
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Certificate in Special Education and Diploma in Teaching (uptaking)

Ilyn is from the Philippines and has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Certificate in Special Education, and is currently pursuing her Diploma in Teaching. She worked in the corporate sector for almost three years in a British Nursery in Dubai, and she has been with us for the past eight years as a teaching assistant. She has a variety of qualifications and training in the PYP and IPC / IEYC curricula. Before joining the education sector, she worked as an AP/Cost Accountant in the corporate sector for ten years.

She is passionate about working with children and learning alongside them. She is a firm believer in inclusivity, believing that all children, regardless of their learning abilities, should have access to education.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, creating food vlogs on YouTube, and binge-watching Netflix. She also enjoys spending time with her dogs.


Ms Nadhira Binti Mohd
Teaching Assistant

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Sciences (Major in Psychology)

Nadhirah is a Malaysian with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Sciences (Major in Psychology). She has worked in local kindergartens and in other industries such as health and human resources.

As a Teaching Assistant, she enjoys the hands-on experience of learning through play with young students and believes that each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.

In her spare time, she enjoys watching anime and taking long drives.


Ms Thenmoli A/P Balakrishannan
Teaching Assistant

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)(Hons)

In 2016, Thenmoli graduated from Unitar International University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked as a preschool teacher at a local kindergarten in Malaysia for two years and has been a Teaching Assistant at Repton International School (previously known as EIS) for four years. She believes that each student has a distinct personality and learning style that educators must respect in order for them to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. She also believes that given the right tools and environment, all children can learn.

She enjoys participating in free arts and spending time with her family.





Ms Elaine Blando
Year 1A Teacher

Country of Origin: Philippines
Academic Qualifications: Master of Arts in Education major in Early Childhood Education, Licensed Professional Teacher, Diploma Level Education and Care qualified by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority

Ms Elaine Blando comes from the Philippines and holds a MA in Education with an Early Childhood Major with more than 10 years of teaching experience.

Prior to teaching in Malaysia she worked in several private schools in the Philippines and was later appointed in a British School as Learning Support and SEN Co-ordinator. For the past three years, she has been working with us as an Early Years and Key Stage 1 teacher.

In her spare time, she enjoys music, movies, sports and travelling to tropical destinations.

Ms Nicole Anne Cromey
Year 2 Teacher

Country of Origin: Malaysia
Academic Qualifications: PGCE - University of Sunderland, UK.; CELTA - University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations, UK.; BA in Psychology - Southern New Hampshire University, USA.

Nicole joins Repton with her young family after several years of international teaching. Nicole completed her teaching training at the University of Sunderland (UK) and has extensive experience with the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

She is originally from Malaysia and has taught in Key Stages 1 and 2 in Bangkok, Thailand (St. Andrews International School) and Vientiane, Laos (Panyathip, The British International School in Laos). She has also taught English as a Second Language in Tokyo, Japan, and has over 4 years of experience working with pupils with special needs. Her most recent assignment required her to work as both a primary teacher and a SENCO (Head of Learning Support).

Nicole strives to foster positive and encouraging classroom communities that are founded on empathy and open communication. She believes in giving pupils opportunities to improve their self-esteem, metacognitive skills, and, most importantly, their love of learning.

Nicole enjoys reading, baking, and creating digital artwork in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, dog, and cat, and she is excited to be a part of the Repton community.

Ms Gina Starkey

Gina has worked as a Primary School Teacher in a number of international schools in countries such as Portugal, Spain, the United States, the Netherlands, and, most recently, Jakarta, Indonesia. She has also taught in the English city of Salford.

She has experience working with various curricula, including the English National Curriculum, Writing Workshop, and the International Primary Curriculum. She has been the IPC's Learning Leader for many years.

She enjoys working in an international setting where she can interact with pupils and families from various backgrounds and cultures; she finds this learning environment dynamic and exciting.

Gina enjoys traveling abroad and discovering new places. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys being outside and in nature; a recent highlight was swimming with turtles.


Ms Vanila A/P Pakirisamy

Vanila is a Malaysian with an Hons Degree and a PGCE. She has been a homeroom teacher in the Primary section for the past 15 years. Vanila has been with us since 2015. She has taught Cambridge, IPC and PYP, as well as EYFS, and she strives to build strong, productive relationships with both children and parents. She believes in nurturing children to help them develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Vanila enjoys arts and crafts as well as reading outside of the classroom.

Mr Hector Diaz
Junior School Teacher

Country of Origin: Spain
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor´s Degree in Business Studies (2009), Bachelor´s Degree in Primary Education with a Master of English as a Foreign Language (2015), Master´s Degree of Physical Education (2018).

Hector has been teaching for the past seven years. He has lived in London for   ten years, but he was born in Spain. He has taught in both private and public schools (in London and Spain), therefore he is knowledgeable with several curriculums such as the IPC and the National Curriculum.

He takes delight in fostering a pleasant learning atmosphere in which each child is appreciated and has the chance to succeed. Hector strives to make his lessons useful and enjoyable while also meeting the social and emotional requirements of each child. He believes that a child's emotional well-being must be recognised and understood in order for them to flourish in the classroom.

Participating in various sporting activities outside of school is one of his favourite pastimes. Football and martial arts are two of his favourite sports. He also enjoys travelling and feels that the more you travel, the more your mind will be opened.

Ms Michelle Hadley

She taught for three years in Scotland and recently finished two years as a Key Stage Leader in Bahrain, where she worked under the National Curriculum.

Michelle has enjoyed teaching pupils of various ages, stages, and curricular areas and is looking forward to embarking on a new experience in Malaysia. Michelle aims to provide a child-centered curriculum that emphasises the development of a positive mindset. She also tries to work holistically throughout the curriculum to assist the child's overall welfare and development.

Michelle enjoys board games, cross stitch, and netball outside of the classroom, as well as spending time with friends and family.

Mr George Grana
Junior School Teacher

George has been teaching internationally for over 20 years, primarily in Latin America. After a few years, he established his own bilingual school, which he ran for several years while also teaching part-time at the Catholic University of Honduras.

He later sold that school in 2016 and relocated to Asia with his son, arriving in Malaysia in mid-2018.

During his 20+ year teaching career, he has taught in both primary and secondary schools, as well as at a university and a few tuition centres here and there. During this time, he has also held a variety of positions, including homeroom teacher, subject teacher, head teacher, and school administrator.

He enjoys travelling, seeing new places, and cooking.

Ms Charmeyne McCollin
Junior School Teacher

Charmeyne is a former Cricket journalist who now uses her passion for words in the classroom settings. She has been teaching in the UK since 2012, covering a wide range of subjects and age groups, most recently at St Andrew's Prep in Eastbourne, where she taught EAL, English, French, Maths, Science, and PSHE.

Charmeyne's strength in the classroom stems from her extensive knowledge of each child, a trait that has served her well in pastoral leadership roles.

Charmeyne's first overseas assignment is with Repton International, despite the fact that travel has always been a passion of hers. Sport is also a real hobby for her – ask her about winning the Ultimate Frisbee European Championships for Great Britain at your peril! She has since coached pupils to their own international honours.

Outside of the classroom, Charmeyne spends a lot of time with her family, who, fortunately, enjoys sports and travel as well. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing word games, and occasionally dusting off her clarinet and playing a little tune.


Ms Linda Walton
Year 6A Teacher

Linda is from Australia and studied fashion design, business, and management before earning a Bachelor of Education degree. She recently started working as a Year 6A teacher at Repton International School. She comes to us after having taught at an international school in Hanoi, Vietnam. Linda previously worked as a primary school teacher in Australia. Linda previously worked as a trainer and assessor in adult and youth education in some of the country's most remote locations. She was in charge of managing, financial, and overall project management for a variety of training programmes.

Linda enjoys sewing, craft, art, cooking, and making anything with her hands – jewellery, bags, soft furnishings, and shoes – in her spare time.

Ms Clare Germain

Clare holds a BA(hons) degree in languages from the United Kingdom and has been teaching internationally since 2004, in Malawi, Kenya, Egypt, and Tanzania. Every class she has taught has been unique, with its own set of personalities, needs, interests, and talents. Finding out about these differences and using them to create the most positive experience for the children in her care is where her joy of teaching stems from. She employs a variety of teaching methods to keep students active and engaged, encouraging them to ask pertinent questions to further their own learning both inside and outside of the classroom.


Ms Kaitheri Balasundram
Assistant Teacher

Academic Qualifications: Int Diploma In Montessori Pedagogy

Kaitheri started her teaching career in 2009 at Tree Top House Montessori School in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. She began working as a Teaching Assistant at Nexus International School in Putrajaya in 2012 and stayed for five years.

In 2016, she moved to Johor with her husband and worked in Sri Omega for 6 months before accepting a position as a Teaching Assistant for Nursery at Excelsior International School.

This is her first year as an Assistant Teacher at Repton, and she is looking forward to her new adventure with Repton Malaysia.

Her hobbies include reading novels, cooking and gardening, painting, and taking long drives with her family.


Ms Priya Dharsheeni Ramasamy
Year 1B Teaching Assistant

Priya is a Malaysian with a Bachelor of Education (TESL). She has been a teacher in the Primary and Secondary sections for the past ten years. Priya joined us six years ago as an Early Years and Key Stage 1 teaching assistant. She is a skilled, patient, and child-friendly teacher whose primary goal is to impart knowledge to young children.

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys creative activities such as DIY, art, craft, and baking. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and travelling with her husband.


Ms Devaki Subramaniam

Devaki is from Malaysia and has a Bachelor's Degree. She has been a teacher in the Primary and Secondary sections for the past eight years. She is a very talented, skilled, patient, and children-loving teacher whose main goal is to convey knowledge to young learners using various teaching methodologies that will help children boost their self-esteem while maintaining interest and enthusiasm. Assistance to students in times of difficulty, as well as a creative attitude, have resulted in the adaptation of new and different learning techniques to enrich the pupils' learning ability.

Devaki has a strong work ethic and a strong desire to create a challenging yet nurturing learning environment.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Health Science-Biological Sciences from Australia and is a dynamic educator with experience teaching small and large groups of students of various ages. She previously worked as a Science Teacher at an International School in Malaysia before joining Repton International School. She also worked as a Biology Lecturer for pre-university pupils at a reputable university. Her goal is to provide effective instruction in order to instil in students a lifelong love of learning.

Mr Mohd Hisham Bin Sulaiman

Hisham is a Malaysian with a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Malay Linguistics. He has 7 years of experience teaching Malay in Malaysian and International schools across Malaysia, giving him a diverse range of teaching experiences that include a variety of international curricula.

He strives to incorporate positive elements into his classroom and is an engaging educator with experience teaching small and large groups of pupils of various ages. Hisham has been with us at Repton International School since 2019 as a senior Malay teacher for the Junior School.

SungHan is from Taiwan, R.O.C. and holds a Master of Developmental and Educational Psychology. She has taught pupils of all ages, from reception to college for the past thirteen years. Her wide range of teaching experiences includes a variety of international curriculum settings in Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Myanmar and Malaysia. As an educator, she believes her role is to set up and maintain an environment conducive to language learning and freedom to explore. She strives to make use of various teaching approaches to cultivate her pupils to be resilient lifelong learners.

Apart from teaching, Sung-Han is a music and movie lover, a reader, a traveler and a cultural explorer.


Ms Theresa Sowa

Theresa is a Singaporean with more than 15 years of teaching experience and completed her M.ED (IB), BBA, and has her PGDE

Theresa has taught the Chinese Language in Singapore public schools and then in private and international schools in Korea using Singapore, China (Hanban) and Korean curriculum. She is also familiar with the American Curriculum gained during her two years of teaching Middle Schoolers in Korea. Among her teaching experience, she has presented at national and international conferences sharing classroom practices from Action Research or Lesson Study. In addition, she is involved with numerous overseas cultural and immersion programs to Shanghai, Xiamen, Hongkong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines and Cambodia as a chaperon, presenter or teacher volunteer, which greatly enhanced her teaching experience through being exposed at these events. She strives to approach teaching and learning with empathy, fun and a willingness to try new things.

Ms Pia Villanueva

Pia has started working with Repton during the last quarter of the year 2020. She graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science. She has been working for eight years as a PE Teacher in various private schools in the Philippines. She spent her last three years teaching in an IB school in the Philippines as a Physical and Health Education Teacher for both Primary and Secondary School which allowed her to work with people of different cultures, personalities, and perspectives. She also completed the certification in Category 1 of Making the PYP Happen in the Classroom, a certification from Shuttle Time Philippines, and Floorball Coaching Level 1 by the Philippine Floorball Association.

She noticed that her passion for teaching pays off whenever the students approach her about how she has changed their lives with her patience and compassion. Her goal is to teach the importance of participation in games and sports which contributes to achieving overall wellness.

Her free time is dedicated to exercising, cooking, and exploring new places and cultures.

Hui Lin is a Malaysian who has earned her Kodaly Certificate, ABRSM Grade 8 Piano, ABRSM Grade 8 Viola, and ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory. She has six years of teaching experience in a variety of grade levels. She is very passionate about encouraging children to learn and understand the elements of music. Before joining Repton International School, she worked for a private organisation and a local government school. She has created a music programme for upper primary students, as well as experiments with creative music-making activities involving body percussion, voice, recycled items, and other instruments. She enjoys music and actively participates in chamber music, where she plays the viola.

She enjoys travelling, learning about new cultures, and diving in her spare time.
